A weekend for the books ... literally

About a year ago, I was perusing Facebook when I happened upon an event taking place in Denver, Colorado. Mile High Author Event seemed like a dream come true for me. Many of my favorite authors were scheduled to appear and I jumped at the chance to attend. I purchased two tickets without a plan, a book buddy to go with, or any idea how big of an event it would be.

As time went on, my book world expanded. I solidified new friendships, "met" new people in the book world, and released my second book. As the event approached, the opportunity to assist my friend and author S.L. Scott came my way. Without hesitation (well, minor hesitation to make sure i was actually going) I agreed.

I had no idea what that simple acceptance would entail. I spent an amazing weekend in the presence of some of the most talented women in this genre. I was in awe of the level of kindness from each person I encountered over three days. Not only did get to hug numerous friends in person, I made new friends, and had my book moment. I met the one author I always assumed would render me speechless, Jennifer L. Armentrout. Ya know, the creator of my ultimate book boyfriend, Cameron Hamilton (Wait for You - read it, you won't regret it). I was not speechless. I didn't even freak out! Yay me!

In the end, it was a weekend of little sleep, lots of laughs, and many hugs and tears. I am forever grateful for this journey I am on and for each and every person I meet as a result. This book community is an amazing thing and I am continuously in awe.
